My name is Paramvir Bains and I am in Grade 11. I like to play basketball because I am a beast at it. No one can gaurd me. I took photography because I find it interesting and want to learn more about it. I have learned how to use photoshop and how to use a camera. I hope what I learnt this year i can apply to my future.

Term 1 Reflection: What are the main things that you have learned this term. How has your idea of photography changed and grown. What do you hope to accomplish next term?

This term I learned that photos don't only show photos, they show messages. At first I thought a good photo was made from a clear and colorful photo, but soon realized it is more than that. It can show dreams, goals, or messages. Next term i hope I can learn how to use Photoshop better and create even more inspiring photos. I want to take photos that have a deep meaning, and not just look nice.

Term 3:. What progress did you make in your final term of photography? How has your idea of photography changed? What skills do you now have? What do you skills do you feel most confident about?

As the year progressed, i learned a myriad of ways to take photos. I learnt how the lighting, shutter speed, and aperature all contribute to a good photo. But that is only half of what makes a good photo. The thing you take the photo of can show some other message and can create a deep feeling. As i learned more and more about photogrophy, the more respect i had for it. It takes skill, creativeness, and imagainaton to create deep photo. At first, i didnt have any of these qualties, but with time and commitment to achieve greater things i learned to be more creative and think outside the box. I took the route of capturing vivid, colurful, and clear pictures because appealed to me the most. Also, my photoshop skills improved as I started to edit more photos. There is no erroneous way of taking a photo, it is percieved differently by everyone. Taking the photo is the easy part, the brainstorming is the hardest. Everyone has their own ideas and it's hard to think of something unique and possible to do. Photography isnt for everyone, I spent the whole year and by the end i still found it hard to think of good photos. If you are creative and think outside the box then its going to be easy for you. My most confident skill is being able to take simple, clear and colorful photos and being able to edit them into something even more appealing. I lack imagination but i make up with for it with colorness. I went the whole year not knowing how to create layers or blend things together and i still managed to get through. If i knew how to use photoshop better, i could get my photos to the next level.
